The Collection Starts Now: Unveiling Pleyr

A New Chapter Begins

I’m thrilled to finally share what our team has been working on for the last six months. This isn’t just an update; it’s our transformation. Today, we are officially unveiling our new name, Pleyr, and launching our official, complete platform.

For those of you who have followed our journey, you know we’ve been on a path of evolution. You saw us launch a very early, bare-bones MVP back in Q1. I was excited, but also candidly anxious. And your feedback was invaluable. You confirmed what we suspected: while our core idea of digital player cards was on the right track, we were missing the critical, foundational features that would make the platform truly powerful and engaging. We learned that we couldn’t just have digital cards. We had to solve the “broken pipeline” of video. We had to build a true community.

So, we went back to work. For the last six months, we’ve been in a high-intensity “crunch time,” building the complete platform we had envisioned. That intense period of building also made something else crystal clear: our old name no longer fit. It was born from our original concept: analytics, data, stats… But we’re not a data company. We’re an athlete-first company.

Why “Pleyr”?

We needed a name that reflected this new, powerful focus. A name that put the single most important person in this ecosystem at the very center of their own story.

Pleyr does just that.

It’s about the athlete. It’s about the joy of play. It’s about empowering every Pleyr to build their own collection of moments, highlights, and memories. Pleyr is an identity, and it’s the perfect banner for our mission.

What’s Inside: The Official Launch

So, what makes this the official launch? What have we been building for six months? This version is a completely different, far more powerful platform built on the feedback we got.

The Video Vault: This is the game-changer. We’ve solved the “broken pipeline” problem. No more lost clips on a parent’s phone or in a forgotten group chat. Now, teammates, coaches, and parents can upload full game footage, giving athletes direct access to find, clip, and store their own highlights.

Digital Pleyr Cards: This is still the heart of your identity, but now it’s a richer, more powerful profile that serves as your central, shareable calling card.

A Team-Based Social Feed: This isn’t another toxic, public-facing feed. Our feed is focused on your community—see posts from your teammates and the players you choose to “collect.” It’s about celebrating wins and sharing the journey.

Massive Team Database: To make onboarding seamless, we’ve pre-populated the platform with over 20,000 teams. Athletes can sign up and immediately join their real-world team.

Our spirit of learning hasn’t stopped. In the final days before launch, our “friends and family” testing revealed a major point of friction: we had a mandatory photo verification during signup. We quickly realized this was a huge mistake and a massive barrier to entry. So, we made a quick and critical pivot. We removed mandatory photo verification from the initial onboarding process. We are replacing it with a “verified vs. unverified” user model, where verification is an optional, post-signup step. It’s a perfect example of how we’ll continue to listen and adapt.

The Road Ahead: We’re Just Getting Started

A launch isn't an end; it's the real starting line. And we are already moving at full speed on what's next.

This transformation—into Pleyr and with this official launch—is the culmination of everything we've learned. It's the platform we believe youth sports deserves—one built on fun, engagement, and authentic documentation.

The journey starts now. The collection starts with you.

Welcome to Pleyr.
